Getting Started with Be Recognized
The Getting Started guide helps every role use the Recognition platform effectively from day one.
When you log in, your view is the Wall page.
For Plus Programs: The Wall is your default landing page.
For Award and Core Programs: Your default landing page displays awards and milestones. The Wall is not available in Award and Core tiers.
Layout of the Homepage
Top Navigation Tabs
- Wall, My Wall, My Awards, Directory, Recognition (and others)
These tabs let users switch between the main recognition feed, their personal activity, awards received, employee directory, and recognition actions. It also hosts any other Scheme or Program the organization has made available for their employees, such as Be Well, Be Rewarded, Be Heard, etc,.
Left Sidebar
- Profile Card (User Info)
- Displays name, role, and department.
- Option to change organization/department.
- Change profile picture via the profile card or camera icon.
- Approval Queue
- Shows recognition awaiting approval. Managers and admins tasked with reviewing recognition nominations can approve, deny, or edit actions via quick icons.
- Points Section
- Balance of points to spend (Premium Catalog button).
- Balance of points to give (Give Points button).
- Link to see the points history.
Note: Only present for users and programs that use points funding.
- Awards Section
- Redeem level-based awards, including milestone awards (e.g., 10 Years of Service).
- See the awards history.
- Orders Section
- Track redemption orders.
- Shows status (e.g., “No orders placed yet”).
Center Feed (Main Wall)
- Create a Post Toolbar
- Options to create:
- Recognition
- Give Awards
- Give Points
- Announcement
- Send eCard
- Options to create:
- Pinned Announcements
- Top company messages or campaigns with date, image/GIF, and call-to-action button.
- Recognition Feed
- Displays recognitions, awards, points activity, and announcements.
- Users can also download and print certificates and (if enabled) add points through Boosting.
- Filter Recognition Feed (bottom of feed)
- Options:
- All Company
- Following
- Specific Location
- Apply filters or set defaults.
- Options:
- Custom Section Option
- Admins can add blocks with title, text, images, GIFs, and optional call-to-action links.
- Sections can be targeted to “Everyone” or specific groups.
Right Sidebar
- Team Dashboard (New)
- Available to managers based on roles and permissions.
- Upcoming Birthdays
- List with “View All” option.
- Upcoming Milestones
- Work anniversaries and achievements (e.g., “1 Year”).
- Add Custom Section Button
- Shortcut to build and preview new sidebar content. Available to admins based on roles and permissions.
This layout ensures:
- Admins can manage recognition, announcements, and points directly from the wall.
- Managers can quickly review nominations, engage with recognition given and received by their employees, and check on team participation through their dashboards.
- Employees see a dynamic mix of personal info, recognition feed, and upcoming events.
- Custom sections and filtering give flexibility for company-specific engagement.
Reviewing Nominations in the Approval Queue
It is visible on the left area of the Wall page. You can also go to the Approval Queue on the sidebar menu to see pending nominations. Each nomination includes who sent it, the recipient, and the award type. From here, you can:
- Approve or decline a nomination.
- Boost points before approving.
- Add comments or certificates.
Best Practice: Processing approvals quickly keeps recognition flowing smoothly and motivates employees.
