Permissions in Be Recognized

Permissions in Be Recognized determine what users can view, send, and manage within the platform.

Your role controls whether you can give recognition, nominate peers, approve awards, or access program administration tools. Some recognition actions depend on your role. Here’s how they break down:

Give Awards

  • Admins and managers can issue awards directly.
  • Employees may nominate colleagues if the program allows it. Nominations usually flow through the Approval Queue before being finalized.

Give Points

  • Admins can set point funding at the program level.
  • Managers can distribute points to their team, either individually or in groups.
  • Employees can receive points and redeem them.

Points Uploads

  • Admins can upload bulk point files. This is useful when giving points across the whole company or to large groups. Uploads are processed automatically after the template is completed and submitted.

Create Custom eCards

  • Admins can design and publish custom eCards to match company culture.
  • Employees and managers can then use these templates to send personalized recognition.

Issuing On-Demand Service Awards

  • Admins and managers can issue service awards outside of scheduled anniversaries.
  • This feature ensures milestones are celebrated even if timing or eligibility needs flexibility.

In addition, use on-demand service awards when:

  • An employee's anniversary was missed or falls outside the recognition cycle
  • A retroactive award is needed for a past milestone
  • Manual intervention is required due to data discrepancies or special circumstances

Role-based Access

Without the Admin permissions, recognition tools and point allocations are not displayed or accessible. This prevents unauthorized use of recognition features or improper distribution of awards and points.
